About Me
We so often skim academic sources for results and findings, but writing these sources requires a high level of expertise, craft, and project management that is not always taught in the classroom or passed on through mentorship. As a writing coach, I combine my expertise in academic writing, experience teaching and tutoring writing, training in literary analysis and rhetoric, and lessons gleaned from my own time as an academic.
I hold a PhD in English from UT Austin, an MA in English from UT Austin, and a BA in English from UC Berkeley. I have over a dozen years of experience helping others improve their academic writing. I have provided writing support to PhD and EdD students as a Doctoral Support Specialist in the Doctoral Support Center at the USC Rossier School of Education, taught undergraduate courses for the Department of Rhetoric and Writing and the Department of English at UT Austin, tutored and led workshops in university writing centers throughout my undergraduate and graduate education, and served as Editorial Assistant for Texas Studies in Literature and Language (a peer-reviewed literary studies journal housed at UT Austin).

My coaching is informed by my own academic writing experiences, which include researching and writing a dissertation and transforming a master’s thesis into a peer reviewed journal article.
